Smaller tree abstract

This is a smaller version of the tree abstract done earlier this summer- it is 2 18x24 canvases that hang side-by side. simpler in color scheme. It was done to match the bedding posted below. I LOVE ABSTRACTS!

here is a better finished photo and them hanging in their final home:

Paintings for the nursery

Amongst lots of commissions this year (which I'm exceedingly thankful for), I found the time to do a series for the nursery- sorry these photos aren't stellar. they are 4- 11x14 acrylic paintings on canvas.
and here they are hung in the nursery- just waiting for baby girl's arrival.

DeBordieu- take 2

You may remember a previous version of this painting from the spring. It was more wintery colors, on wooden panel, with the boat depicted in the painting. This part of the SC has to be one of the most beautiful and serene places on earth! This is a second take of the same scene- notice more summery colors, no boat at the dock, and a different feel since it's acrylic on stretched canvas (12x16 I think). Completed July 2014. Thanks for checking it out! Photos that we worked from:

Final painting:

Freckles!

Sweet Freckles! This was a commission by a college friend- a gift for her husband of their dog Freckles. I didn't do a very good job of documenting the progress, but I posted the photo I worked from below the finished painting. 18x24 acrylic on stretched canvas.

For dog portraits I charge an additional $50 added to the price list- which can be seen in the "about me" section of the blog. It's just a little extra time and attention to detail.
Thanks for checking out the post!

Large tree abstract

This abstract was commissioned by a family member for their mountain home. I LOVE abstracts, and I loved the colors of the fabrics she gave me to work from (see them hanging from the dresser on the right side of the following photos). This was completed in July 2014- 48"x60" acrylic on stretched canvas. This was so much fun!

Series of 4 grayscale pieces

This series was commissioned by some friends of 4 meaningful places to them: their first home, the church they were married in, their alma mater (where they met), and a special family lake house. I was HONORED as I always am when people trust me to capture things so meaningful to them. The photos were very different in scale, color scheme, perspective, and architecture. For that reason we decided to use a monochromatic approach so that they'd read as a unit when hung together. I love monochromatic paintings! Whether in black/white or sepia, the contrast of light and dark can be more striking than color paintings. I can't wait to see these framed and in their home! These are 11x14 paintings that will be matted to 10x13. acrylic on watercolor painting- completed August 2014.
